She hasn’t really been drinking out of her cup today, but I still wanted her to get her probiotic so I mixed it in with her food instead. Dinnerįor Sage, we tried a brand new food today – hard boiled egg! I separated out the yolk from the white, since the yolk isn’t a common allergen, and tried her on that with some pureed peas mixed with a little breastmilk. I blame Matt – he busted them out while I was filming!įinally, before our walk I had chopped up an apple with some cinnamon sprinkled on top, and a dollop of peanut butter. I also had (random I know) a block of cheese to nibble on while I breastfed Sage. I prefer to have these on a nearly empty stomach if I can. I do try to opt for healthier versions, and keep processed foods, refined sugar and artificial flavourings to a minimum, but you can totally balance a little bit of junk food every now and again with healthy meals.įor my first snack I had a store bought green juice (similar one). If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love my snacks! As I said, especially while I’m breastfeeding I have found myself so hungry throughout the day, so little snacks just help to tie me over until meal times. You can grab my full nicoise salad recipe right here. It’s one of my favourite types of salad because there’s protein, veggies and it’s absolutely delicious. This is another meal prep favourite of mine because you can cook everything up in advance and store it in the fridge. I left lunch a little bit late today so for quickness I tossed up a nicoise salad. Top tip: If you’re not planning to use the whole avocado, you can use one of these avocado huggers to keep the remaining half fresh in the fridge! You’ve got to do what works for you and your baby. It works great for us, and that’s what I always tell people. We’re really enjoying mixing the two styles of feeding Sage. I also gave her a banana, which I cut up baby led weaning style. This is a super easy lunch because I don’t have to heat it up. I gave her some mashed avocado, hemp hearts and a little breast milk I thawed from the freezer. I did Sage’s lunch first today since I wasn’t quite ready for lunch yet. I also chose to serve up her buckwheat with some mashed berries! Today we did carrots, but any pureed veg mixes well into these types of breakfasts. I always add some veggies so we can get some into her day first thing. I do a quarter cup of boiling water with 2 tablespoons of whatever type of oats I’m using. I like to add a scoop of collagen, liquid stevia, and a dash of cinnamon with frothed oat milk.įor Sage, I decided to switch it up! We usually do oats in the morning, but today we tried buckwheat flakes. Īs usual, I love to enjoy my breakfast with a cup of herbal coffee. You can download my free guide to the perfect green smoothie right here. I then move onto a proper breakfast for me and Matt, sometimes something like oatmeal, but because the scone was pretty filling I opted for a smoothie. It makes the mornings super quick and easy, and the carbs settle my stomach. I’ve been loving these blueberry scones recently, because I can have them ready to grab. Let me tell you… breastfeeding means I am RAVENOUS when I wake up in the mornings.
